First Timer

I have had the hardest time setting up a spot for a blog and a spot where I can post pictures. I have created blogs at other sites, but have been unable to access them once I have created them. So here I go again. I am almost at my 2nd year loc anniversaray, and that marvelous date is July 06. I have enjoyed my journey, even the frizzies and the bad hair days, which have not been too extreme for me. I started my locs 2 years ago from microbraids that I had gotten in May of 06 and when July 06 came, time to take them down, I couldn't imagine taking down all those tiny braids down by myself, there was tooooo many. I had been wanting to loc for years but was afraid, so this was my opportunity. I had done some deep research on locs and I had made my decision to start the process now. The young lady that put the braids in did locs also and she was going to start mine. She said I didn't have to take the braids down, just twist them together. So when it was time for this to happen, she was no were to be found. So, I combined some of the braids myself by twisting them together. I shampooed and twisted my hair every two weeks until December 06. At that time, my bf cut the extensions off and I had a head full of 1" babylocs sticking up all over the place. At first I was scared because my hair was so short, but after I shampooed and twisted them, it was on an popping. My bf loved it and still does. Right now my locs are between 4"-6" all over my head. My best support and teachers have come from the different talk groups over the internet.
